What we do

As a Theatre Group we work on the 3 skills of theatre: singing, dancing and acting. The songs chosen are mostly old-fashioned songs from the Musicals and Broadway classics. Occasionally a modern number is thrown in (Baby got Back!).

The dancing is more akin to movement and coordination than ballet. We also do tap dancing, which all the children enjoy. None of the dancing is "girly", and it is suitable for both sexes.

Drama games and exercises are played most weeks. At the start of term these are aimed towards building confidence and moulding a group to become comfortable around one another. Attention is paid to each child to improve and encourage their speech and projection. It is hoped that everyone will have something to say on the stage during the show.

The younger classes do more singing and dancing than drama. The Seniors and older children tend to do more acting than singing and dancing. Each week will vary, but throughout the term each child will receive a good mix of Theatre tuition.
