There's no business like show business!...

...and there's no Theatre Group like the Henley Children's Theatre Group.

HCTG is Henley's original Theatre Group. Founded in 1969 by Flavia Pickworth, it is still going strong today under the direction of her granddaughter, Muffin Hurst. HCTG is proud to have a young, vibrant, fresh atmosphere where children can relax and be themselves.

Muffin has been running the group for most of her life and has considerable expertise with children, their welfare, confidence and happiness. Each child is treated as an individual and their accomplishments are personal achievements that everyone in the group admires. It is a non-audition group, so any child (regardless of talent) may enjoy performing; enthusiasm is the shared and essential ingredient!

All children will perform in an end of term production at the Kenton Theatre (a marvellous experience in itself). The aim is not to obtain a characterless chorus line, but more a bubbly bustle of individuals achieving their best and scoring their own goals. The end result is normally a production of a very high standard, with palpable energy and enthusiasm. Everyone's a winner - performer and audience alike!
