New Members

If you are interested in joining the Henley Children’s Theatre Group please download the WAITING LIST form and return it to Muffin Hurst at The Old Forge, Pyrton, Watlington, OX49 5AP, or via email Muffin@henleychildrenstheatre.co.uk.

Places are offered in order of receipt for the appropriate age group. Siblings receive priority.

All children in Classes A to C need black ballet shoes and black tap shoes.

Every group will cover a mixture of singing, acting and dancing. This is spread over the term, rather than an equal portion each week.

The Pantomime Term is a very busy time and your commitment and cooperation throughout is greatly appreciated. Due to the large number of children, the busy time of year, and the Theatre’s rules and regulations, we require all parents to help in some way during the week of the production. There are many different roles to fill (not on stage! but) backstage, and Front of House. Requests for Volunteers will be given out at the start of term or you can download it here - VOLUNTEER FORM.

During the Summer, as each group only performs once, we will provide care for them backstage, and have a limited service Front of House.

Fees

Fees are now payable in advance of the term. Full payment is required to guarantee a child’s place, allowing newcomers the opportunity to join where possible, and confirm the commitment required.

New children will have 2 Saturdays to settle in, after which, if they are unhappy for any reason a 50% refund will be made. Current pupils are not eligible for a refund of any sort. In exceptional circumstances, please contact me.

Costumes

For the summer show there are no specific costume requirements (save footwear).

For the Pantomime term there is an allocation of the fees towards costumes. This is the same charge for each child and will provide for a costume (shared between the 2 different performing groups), at approximately £15. I will endeavour to provide the best fitting costume I can for your child. In most cases, you will have the option of paying an additional amount for a “personal” (ie: not shared) costume. Again, parents are responsible for correct footwear.

Classes

Children are allocated to the Class appropriate for their age. Sometimes there are mild fluctuations, but I will only be able to move a child if I believe they can cope with the different age group. It is not in a child’s interest to be amongst children of a vastly differing age or ability. I will inform you if your child is due to change group for the next term. If in any doubt, please ask me.
